Paralympic cyclist Sarah Storey was named the Sunday Times Paralympian of the Year at an awards ceremomy in London last night.
Storey, who claimed four gold medals during the Paralympic Games in September, including two at Brands Hatch, also equalled the British Paralympic gold medal record of 11 set by Tanni Grey-Thompson.
Speaking on her Twitter feed, Storey, who was unable to attend the awards said; "So honoured to be named Sunday Times Paralympian of the Year. Thank you to everyone who voted and the wonderful Tanni Grey-Thompson for accepting for me."
Storey won the C5 Individual Time Trial and C4-5 Road Race at Brands Hatch, the latter with a winning margin of over seven minutes.
