MotorSport Vision Racing (MSVR) is set to expand in 2013 with its busiest calendar since its inception including three all new championships/series.
From March until November MSVR will organise 37 race meetings across the UK's premier circuits. 22 core MSVR championships and series will run at these meetings, and will be joined by several 'guest' series. A number of prestigious events feature on the 2013 calendar including rounds of the British F3 & GT Championships and the DTM.
MSVR is delighted to welcome the new ground breaking BRDC Formula 4 Championship to its portfolio in 2013. The championship has been created to provide a much needed modern low cost series aimed at those starting single seater racing and a stepping stone to higher formulae. BRDC Formula 4 will see 24 identical cars, built around a chassis designed by the RFR company, compete in 24 races in eight meetings at the UK's best circuits. The all-new BRDC F4 car was unveiled yesterday (Thursday) at the Autosport International Show, held at Birmingham's NEC.
Radical Sportscars will continue to feature heavily at MSVR's events this season with the new Radical SR1 Cup joining the Radical SR3 Challenge, Radical Clubman's Cup and the Radical Masters EuroSeries. Open to drivers who have either never held a race licence before, or are still eligible to wear a novice cross on the rear of the car, the SR1 Cup will lead aspiring sports car drivers through the process of getting on the grid, with a detailed programme of driver training and technical tuition. The championship will be contested over eight races at Brands Hatch, Snetterton 300, Oulton Park and Cadwell Park. Already signed up to race is Olympic legend Sir Chris Hoy, making his competitive motorsport debut.
Also debuting in 2013 is the Atom Cup which will bring the Ariel Motor Company into competitive British motorsport for the first time. Running alongside other series as part of the MSVR package, the Atom Cup will offer drivers and spectators the opportunity to see this no limits, lightweight supercar, racing wheel-to-wheel at eight of the UK's best race tracks. The Atom Cup will visit Brands Hatch (Indy and GP), Oulton Park, Snetterton 300, Cadwell Park, Castle Combe and Silverstone (National and GP).
While BRDC Formula 4, Radical SR1 Cup and Atom Cup will make an impact on track, MSVR is set to add two new spectacular promoted events to its calendar joining the successful Brands Hatch Mini Festival and Lotus Festival.
The American SpeedFest held at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit on 8/9 June is a celebration of all things American. The meeting will be headlined by the EuroRacecar NASCAR series supported by Pick Up trucks, the Legends Cars Cup and historic V8s. There will be plenty of off track entertainment with American car club displays, live music and much, much more.
MSVR will also play a significant part in organising the Aston Martin Centenary - a one off event at Brands Hatch on 6/7 July commemorating 100 years of one of Britain's most famous institutions. The Centenary will bring together Aston Martin's greatest motorsport achievements and a selection of their most famous, exotic and iconic cars. There will also be two special centenary races and further race content provided by Aston Club Racing.
MSVR Race Operations Manager David Scott said: "I am extremely excited by the forthcoming season. We have three brand new championships and series, two new prestigious events and a fantastic calendar which will see us visit the UK's finest race tracks. With strong support from competitors, 2013 is set to be a vintage year. Whether as a competitor, spectator or marshal, I hope you will enjoy your season with MSVR."
