Leading GT squad AF Corse has announced its intentions to compete in the 2013 British GT Championship with a pair of Ferrari 458 Italia GT3s.
The reigning FIA World Endurance Pro-Am Champions will field John Dhillon and Aaron Scott in one of the machines, with an as-yet unnamed duo to pilot the other.
The Italian team secured the GT honours in this years' Le Mans 24 Hours as well as clinching the Blancpain Endurance Series Pro-Am Championship. They are recognised as being effectively the 'works' Ferrari team in GT racing, boasting ex-F1 stars Giancarlo Fisichella, Gianmaria Bruni and Olivier Beretta amongst their driver line up.
Benjamin Franassovici, British GT Championship Manager said: "I am very excited for British GT to receive interest from the continent, it shows we are doing something special here. British GT is one of the strongest National GT series in Europe if not the world, the racing is exceptional and the addition of a team of the calibre of AF Corse is very positive."
AF Corse are the latest team to confirm their entry to next year's championship alongside United Autosports who will field two McLaren MP4-12Cs and an Audi R8 Ultra LMS GT3.
The 2013 British GT season starts at Oulton Park on Easter Weekend (29 & 31 March). The series also makes its usual visits to the Snetterton 300 and Brands Hatch GP circuits with tickets on sale shortly.
