Teams competing in the 2013 BRDC Formula 4 Championship have
heaped praise on the new F4 car following its recent launch at the
Autosport International Show in Birmingham.
MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer and BRDC President Derek
Warwick unveiled the new 2.0 litre, 185bhp single seater to a
packed crowd of onlookers, including invited guests, teams, drivers
and members of the press. During the event, Formula4.com spoke to
many of the F4 team principals to gauge their reaction…
Chris Dittmann, CDR
"After viewing the new F4 car, it is clear to see it is an
exceptionally well made car. The overall shape and body has been
made with both aerodynamics and aesthetics in mind and it will have
a real presence on the race track. Every small detail has been made
with thought and careful precision as well as a strong focus on
safety."
Ken Page, Sean Walkinshaw Racing
"The car looks great I'm looking forward to our cars arriving and
getting them out on track testing. I think that now the car has
been seen in the flesh even more drivers will come forward
expressing an interest in racing in the BRDC Formula 4
Championship."
Les Jones, MTECH Lite
"I thought the car looked stunning and was far more than I
expected. With the launch it now underlines the commitment from MSV
that this is the championship to be competing in. We can't wait to
get out on the circuit testing our cars."
Wayne Douglas, Douglas Motorsport
"The car looks very impressive and the build quality is very good
for the price; certainly better than I expected. We're now looking
forward to getting our hands on it and already have our testing
schedule all mapped out."
Richard Ollerenshaw, Hillspeed
"This is clearly the most well thought out new car that's been
launched since the original Formula Renault back in 2000. It's
clear to see F4 has a long future and is the best place for
aspiring drivers."
Charlie Kemp, HHC
"The car has exceeded our expectations, not only with regard to
its fantastic modern styling but also the nature of its
engineering. For me, its unveiling has solidified its place as the
premier option for the junior single seater driver."
Matt Bell, Privateer
"It is a very beautiful car, I think the best part has to be the
steering wheel, very sophisticated and modern and I can't wait to
get my hands on it."
Falco Wauer, Privateer
"I am thrilled with the new car. It looks great and I'm really
looking forward to driving it."
