Watch great races from 2015

Monday, December 28 2015

Avoid the queues in the post-Christmas sales by staying at home and watching some of the year's best races at our circuits to get in the mood for a new season of action in 2016.

We've enjoyed another great season of entertainment from some of the best championships in the country, and a few international series too. Pour a glass of mulled wine and grab a jumbo tin of Quality Street whilst we take you through some of the highlights.

MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship
It was very much Josh Brookes' year in 2015; once the fearless Aussie took his first win of the season at Brands Hatch in July he dominated his rivals to take his first title when the championship returned to Kent in October. Before this amazing run of form, Shane Byrne looked the prime contender for a fifth championship, but at Oulton Park he clashed with rival Ryuichi Kiyonari after Tommy Bridewell threw away the race lead. Watch the mayhem unfold in this clip.

British Touring Car Championship
A raft of changes to the field made this season one of the most intriguing in the BTCC's history. Once it had boiled down to a battle between the Honda and Team BMR squads, Gordon Shedden and Jason Plato looked set to dispute the title. Whilst everything looked to be heading the Scotsman's way, Jason racked up the tension at the Brands Hatch finale by whittling away his rival's advantage. Watch the final three rounds here.

British GT Championship
YouTube is full of supercar clips, but whilst most of them feature slow-moving exotica on the streets of London, the British GT Championship is the best place to see them doing what they were built for - high performance. The championship is one of the closest in motorsport, and there were plenty of twists this season, which got underway at Oulton Park in April. Here's a clip from that weekend.

Blancpain GT Series
More GT racing, this time with an international flavour. The Blancpain GT Series returned to Brands Hatch bringing an intoxicating cocktail of supercars that sounded even better than they looked, and some of the World's best GT drivers. There are some excellent battles in these two clips from the Sprint races, and the fantastic weather will have you wishing away the days until the series returns in May!

BRDC Formula 4
The BRDC F4 Championship usually co-headlines with British GT, although the Snetterton event shown here was a standalone meeting, which showed the championship at its best. There's plenty of entertainment on offer from the drivers and cars, the latter of which have since been upgraded - look out for next year's championship, which showcases the new, much faster Tatuus-Cosworth!

American SpeedFest
A lot of people came to this year's American SpeedFest, but if you weren't one of them, take a look at this clip of the headlining NASCAR Whelen Euro Series action to see what you're missing. Then head to www.speedfest.co.uk and book your place at next year's event!
